Peter Katz and Royal Wood. Just a couple cute canadian boys who can sing. That's all I need in life is a cute boy who can sing and do the yardwork...and defer to me on everything else. And this is why I'm single. But really what struck me about this song is the beautiful sentiment of family. Isn't it a miracle how you can annoy each other to no end when you're kids and somehow become best friends when you're grown? When you're small, they only seem to take from you - your toys, your clothes, your friends, your dignity. And then suddenly they become a person who gives so unreservedly - the first person you call when you're in a scrape.
My sister just phoned to let me know that chicken pox has reared it's itchy head in her household and that it will likely take a few weeks to pass through her four children. Poor little beans. And when she's up to her neck in whiny babies and calamine lotion, she'll be calling my number and I wouldn't have it any other way. Because when it comes down to it the real joy isn't in having a sister...it's in being one.
